Change

How many times have you heard, change is inevitable?

I have experienced many changes in my lifetime and I admit that some of it can knock the wind out of you. I’ve also experienced changes that prepared and positioned me for growth.

One thing I have learned is it’s important how you handle changes (expected & unexpected). Are you a victim of change or are you a conqueror? Do you let changes cripple you? Do you resist changes and grow weary fighting against the change? Do you allow changes to alter your character? Do you embrace change and align yourself to thrive with change.

Another lesson I learned is to seek God during changes. What is the lesson to be learned? What is the true purpose of the change? Identify the benefits and sacrifices that are a result of change. Is the change about me or am I being used to support changes for others?

Lastly, how do you engage with others during changes? Do you complain and offer no alternative solutions? Do you refrain from interacting with others during change? Do you ask questions to gain a better understanding of the scope and impact of the changes? Do you immediately accept changes and move on?

How you react to change comes from your mindset. When you have a resilient mindset you are able to embrace change and move forward. Without a resilient mindset change can be stressful for you and/or cause you to resist it. A resilient mindset will allow you to see the opportunities associated with change instead of the obstacles.
